FEASIBILITY WARNING: Veterinary Timeline Valid (60 Days), But Airline/Breed Restricted

You have sufficient calendar time (60 days vs. 22 days minimum), but Singapore Airlines restricts Pekingese (5 kg) on United Kingdom -> North Macedonia. Switch airlines or entry ports to avoid check-in rejection.

Brachycephalic (Snub-Nosed) Breed Alert: Pekingese

Snub-Nosed Flag

Pekingese is classified as a Brachycephalic (snub-nosed) breed prone to Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) under cargo stress and heat. Singapore Airlines enforces a strict cargo/hold embargo on Pekingeses.

💡 Select an airline allowing in-cabin pets (e.g., Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Delta <= 8–9 kg) into an eligible cabin-friendly entry airport.

Breed Embargoed: Singapore Airlines Bans Pekingese in Cargo/Hold

Soft Under-Seat Cabin Carrier

Singapore Airlines does not allow pets in the passenger cabin, and Singapore Airlines (SIA Cargo Live Animals) enforces a strict Brachycephalic (snub-nosed) embargo in all cargo holds due to respiratory risk.

Frequently Asked Questions: Pekingese (United Kingdom → North Macedonia)

Can a Pekingese fly in the cabin on Singapore Airlines from United Kingdom to North Macedonia?

Breed Embargoed: Singapore Airlines Bans Pekingese in Cargo/Hold. Singapore Airlines does not allow pets in the passenger cabin, and Singapore Airlines (SIA Cargo Live Animals) enforces a strict Brachycephalic (snub-nosed) embargo in all cargo holds due to respiratory risk.

How many days in advance do I need to prepare my Pekingese to enter North Macedonia from United Kingdom?

Entering Republic of North Macedonia from United Kingdom (Great Britain) (Step-Free/Rabies-Free) requires a strict biological minimum of 22 days and a recommended 36-day pre-clearance lead window via Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA).

Does North Macedonia require a Rabies Titer Test (FAVN) or 24–120h Tapeworm treatment from United Kingdom?

No — because United Kingdom is classified as Step-Free/Rabies-Free, direct travel to North Macedonia is exempt from the 90/180-day blood titer wait, requiring a 21-day post-microchip rabies immunity wait. Ensure standard internal and external parasite clearance is documented on your health certificate.

When must DEFRA APHA endorse the health certificate for North Macedonia?
